The Steamship Authority has the only ferries that carry vehicles (reservation required). There are 10 ferries/day which operate between Woods Hole & Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs. Average travel time is between 35 – 45 minutes.
New England Fast Ferry is a passenger-only ferry & operates from April through November. This ferry travels between New Bedford and docks in Oak Bluffs & Vineyard Haven - reservations are recommended. The New England Fast Ferry takes about 1 hr and there are normally 4 – 6 ferries/day.
Vineyard Ferry is a passenger-only fast ferry operating seasonally (mid-May – Oct 13) traveling between Quonset Point & Oak Bluffs. This Ferry takes about 1 hr 35 minutes & there are normally 2 – 3 ferries/day.
Located downtown with the best waterfront view! Great place for drinks (try the Bloody Mary), local oysters & great pub food.
Laid back, pub. Great place to grab a beer, watch sports & listen to live music (seasonal).
Ice cream shop located on N. Water St. is the perfect spot for a sweet treat.

Biking is one of the best ways to enjoy Martha’s Vineyard! The scenic bike trail connects Edgartown to all parts of the Vineyard. Bike rentals are available in downtown Edgartown starting at $25/day.
Runners & walkers should also check out the bike trails for great (mostly) traffic free, flat paths.
And, for those feeling ambitious the morning after... the 25th Annual Oak Bluffs 5K is taking place on Sunday October 12.
